Our Website Policies prohibit the use of the TDLR logo without our prior written consent, and this website (https://www.tdlr.texas.gov) is the only website authorized to use the lettering “TDLR” within the URL. Surety Bond Continuation
A surety bond in the amount of $5,000 must be must be maintained for the duration of your license.
The information on the bond must match the information of the school license:
- Exact school name
- Legal ownership name, and
- Physical school address
Proof of your bond continuation must be submitted on a Branch School Continuation Agreement Form (PDF) and included with your license application.

Licenses are valid for a period of one year from the date issued.
Renewal of Expired Licenses
A license that has been expired for 90 days or less may be renewed by paying to the department a renewal fee that is equal to 1-1/2 times the normally required fee.
A license that has been expired for more than 90 days but less than 18 months may be renewed by paying to the department a renewal fee that is equal to two times the normally required fee.
On approval by the executive director (see Request to Executive Director for Expired License Renewal Form (PDF)), a license that has been expired for at least 18 months but less than three years may be renewed by paying to the department a renewal fee equal to two times the normally required fee.
