- Discussion and possible recommendation on the proposed amendments to existing rules at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 61, §61.10 and §61.110 regarding the Combative Sports program. The proposed rules implement Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 2052 , Combative Sports. The proposed rules add a definition in 16 TAC, Chapter 61, §61.10, to define the discipline of slap fighting. Additionally, the proposed rules add provisions to 16 TAC, Chapter 61, §61.110, to recognize that slap fighting is subject to the Department’s regulatory authority. Lastly, the proposed rules allow contestants in slap fighting events to participate without gloves. This agenda item includes discussion of any public comments received on the proposed amendments.

The Combative Sports Advisory Board will accept public comment for the June 20, 2024, meeting.
Written comments must be submitted to board.comments@tdlr.texas.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Comments will be provided to the Board members for their review prior to the meeting but will not be read publicly during the public meeting.

Prior to the meeting, you will receive an email with a link to join the meeting. You will be given up to three (3) minutes to speak.
